Nationwide Info & Referral Service

Bay Aging acts as a clearing house for information of interest to older adults.

There is no charge for this service.

 

Volunteer Opportunities

 

Volunteers are an integral part of the services and programs at Bay Aging.  They provide a link to the larger community and are a valuable, irreplaceable resource.

 

Volunteer opportunities include delivering meals, insurance counseling, transporting seniors to medical appointments, volunteering at dinning centers and clerical assistance at the Bay Aging office.

 

Senior Activity Centers

 

Senior Activity Centers are located in each of the ten counties of the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula of Virginia.  These Centers are community focal points which offer the opportunity for socialization through supportive and challenging group programs. 
Services are available to individuals who are age 60 and over and who function independently.  
Meals and transportation are offered on a donation basis.  All participants are encouraged to contribute according to their income.

Senior Activity Center Locations

Employment Assistance 

Employment and training opportunities are available to a limited number of low income and elderly residents of the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula regions of Virginia.  Unemployed or retired jobseekers, age 55 and older, may choose job training, continuing education, subsidized work experience and job placement assistance.
 
 

Ombudsman

 

The local Ombudsman serves as an advocate for older adults on the Middle Peninsula, Northern Neck and Peninsula area, by investigating and helping to resolve issues involving quality of care, quality of life, and resident's rights in Adult Care Facilities, Nursing Homes, and Home Health Services.

Alzheimer's Support Group

 

Monthly Support group meetings for family, friends and caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's or other dementia.  Please call for time and place of meetings.
