Meals on Wheels

 

 

USDA approved meals, delivered by volunteers, Monday through Friday to the homebound.

 

 

Personal Care Assistant

 

Provides numerous in-home care options including friendly visiting, reading, writing, errands, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping. 

 

For long-term care, at-risk, frail or homebound persons, we provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation and bedfast care.

 

 

Respite For Caregivers

 

Offers options for stress relief and personal time for caregivers to attend to other family concerns.

 

 

Alzheimer’s Disease Support Groups

 

Support groups meet on a regular basis to provide information and to offer caregivers comfort and support.

 

 

Adult Day Break Centers

 

 

Adult day care addresses the needs of persons age 18+ who are nursing home eligible or are at the greatest risk of institutionalization. Most clients have Alzheimer’s disease or other form of dementia, while the younger adults have severe mental and physical disabilities.  Click here for more information.

 

 

Active Lifestyle Centers

 

Centers are located in each of the ten counties in the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. Centers are community focal points and offer educational, social and supportive programs for anyone age 60 and older.

MedCarry

 

Coordinated non-emergency medical transportation for people who lack transportation due to not having a vehicle, not being able to drive, elderly, or handicapped.

 

Volunteers use their personal vehicles to transport people to their medical appointments to doctors, clinics, treatment centers and pharmacies.

 

Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP)

& Ombudsman Program

 

The program educates, counsels and assists older consumers on medical benefit programs, Medicare, long-term care insurance and more.

 

Your Ombudsman is there for you to help you with any issues you may have and to help guide you to the services and programs you need—whether it is short-term or long-term.

 

 

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

 

RSVP has almost 1,000 people who throughout the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck region who volunteer their time and talents

Bay Aging is able to provide you with the information you need to contact any aging services organization in the United States.

 

 

Legal Aid

 

Bay Aging can provide individual representation for legal advice.
